Did you know there’s a whole community of bacteria that lives in your gut? The species of bacteria—some good and some bad—are responsible for keeping your immune system running and sending messages to your brain that often direct how you feel and think.

Gut bacteria , gut flora, microbiome.

Your goal should be to feed your body things that help the good bacteria grow and populate, and minimize foods that cause overgrowth of the bad bacteria.

To make it easy, think of it like this:

  • Things that feed good bacteria do not come in a box and contain vitamins and minerals
  • Things that feed bad bacteria largely contain sugar or are easily broken down into sugar
